Jakarta, (24/11)/ Heavy rainfall with lightning and thunderstorm are forecast for most of Indonesia area within the next three days (24-26 November 2016). Sumatera Island such as Aceh, the northern part of North Sumatera, West Sumatera, the western and northern part of Lampung will be affected by this severe weather.
This condition also affected Java Islands (Banten, the southern part of Jabodetabek, the western and southern part of West Java, Yogyakarta, Central Java, and East Java), Kalimantan Island (North Kalimantan, the northern part of East Kalimantan, and the northern part of West Kalimantan), Sulawesi Island (West Sulawesi and South Sulawesi) and also the northern part of Papua.
BMKG warned Indonesian people to be wary about the potential natural disasters such as flooding, flash flood, landslides, fallen tree and other weather hazards that will occur because of the excess of rain.
For Indonesian people who lived in coastal area, especially in Indian Ocean in the southern part of Sumatera to the southern part of Java, BMKG also issued a high wave warning in the range of 2.5 - 4.0. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea and those out at sea are advised to return to coast immediately.
