FORECAST DECADE III SEPTEMBER 2017

• The air mass in Indonesia is still dominated by the Northeast Wind, except in northern Sumatra and northern Borneo. There is a wind bend in the western waters of central Sumatra to East Kalimantan that support the formation of rain clouds. Based on the Asian Monsoon index still indicates reduced rainfall around western Kalimantan, central Sumatra and Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara. Positive SST anomalies predominate in the northeastern waters of Maluku and northern Papua, potentially increasing the chances of rain cloud formation.
• Predicted dasarian rainfall, Rainfall mostly in low to medium range (10 - 150 mm / Decade), except for high rainfall (> 150mm / Das) in Bengkulu, West Sulawesi, West West Papua and southern part of Mountains Jayawijaya Papua bulk. Low rainfall (<50 mm / Das) is found around northern western Java connecting to most of Central Java, Yogyakarta and East Java to NTT, southern South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi baian.selatan, and southern Papua around Merauke.
• Areas with high rainfall potential of the September III: opportunities around: East and West aceh, North Central Sumatra, West Sumatra to Bengkulu, northern Borneo, West and Central Sulawesi and around Tolo-Toli, western Gorontalo, Sulawesi North of the southern part, parts of Maluku, West Papua head section and around Jayawijaya Mountains.

OCTOBER 2018 PREDICTION

• Rainfall Prediction. Most of the rainfall is in the medium to high range (100- 500 mm / month). Low rainfall is present in East Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, southern South Sulawesi, southern Southeast Sulawesi, Buru Island of Maluku and around Merauke south of Papua.
