Upon preparing the Intensive Observation Period (IOP) in Bengkulu area as part of the YMC research campaign proposed by JAMSTEC, a coordination meeting between BMKG Headquarter and BMKG local officers has been convened on 11 October 2017 in the BMKG Bengkulu Climatology Station, following the previous site survey at the end of July 2017. In total, there were 12 participants in the meeting, comprised of Officers from BMKG HQ and Officers from BMKG Meteorology - Climatology - Geophysics Stations in Bengkulu.

The aim of the meeting were two folds; one was to coordinate and discuss technical preparations of the IOP which is scheduled to be held from 16 November 2017 to 15 January 2018,and the other was to discuss the preparation of Focus Group Discussion Meeting (FGD) which will be convened in Grage Hotel Bengkulu on early November 2017.

As the output, there were several recommendations to follow. Among others were related with equipment, materials, facilities, procedure, and schedule for the observation. In addition, relevant stakeholders for the FGD have been identified. Above all, participants agreed that the IOP would be a good opportunity to enhance local Officers' understanding in atmospheric dynamic around Bengkulu and add value to their daily upper-air observation, and that radiosonde data which will be resulted from the IOP should be optimized in scientific manner. Whilst the activities planned in that period were considered to be a good environment for the officers to be involved in such international research collaboration.
