THE MEETING ON PRESIDENTS OF REGIONAL ASSOCIATIONS DAN PRESIDENTS OF TECHNICAL COMMISSIONS OF WMO
On January, 30th to February. 1st 2012 located in WMO Secretariat, Jenewa, The Director of General for BMKG as President of Aassociation V-WMO attended the meeting with fellow presidents of regional associations , and meeting the joint meeting presidents of regional associations and presidents technical commissions of WMO . The meeting discuss about some agenda , among others is development progress strategic operating plan and work plan working groups of each region.
The alignment of programme of work between the Working Group of the Regional Association and the Technical Commission gets a major concern in the Joint Meeting, in order of effectiveness and efficiency and economize the use of the budget. It also discussed the issues of reform of the organizational processes that are already underway in the WMO.
On the February, 1st 2012 , theDirector General of BMKG also hold separate meetings with Director of Department ofDevelopment and Regional Activities and Regional Director for Asia Pacific and the South West to discuss developments lastly issues special and the management program the region of V .
In addition discussed preparations for a trial Session Commission of Basic systems (CBS) in Indonesia in September 2012, and also request to Indonesia as the organizer of a meeting host experts volcanic ash (volcanic ash distribution) given Indonesia is the country with the largest number of active volcanoes in the world.

On this year, BMKG hold International Workshop on�Climate Change and Weather Information Service in Supporting Adaptation and Mitigation to Climate Change in Transportation and Tourism in Ritz Carlton Hotel during two days from Tuesday, May, 15th to Wednesday, May, 16th , 2012. Workshop is attended by the representatives of the Government Agencies, scientisis from universities and industry player as ellas researchers form aboard active in the area of transportation and tourism. The Indonesia, speakers are government agencies and universities among others are BMKG, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, ITB, IPB, UGM, whereas the foreign speakers are experts in the field of climate change related with transportation and tourism among other are from the Netherlands, Thailand and Australia.
