Monitoring for Suflur Dioxide (SO2) in DKI-Jakarta performed in 5 (five) locations are: Ancol, Bandengan (Delta), Glodok, Kemayoran, and Monas. At the West Sumatera and Kalimantan each 1 (one) locations are : Kototabang and Siantan.
Measurement of SO2 gas passive method is applied using a passive sampler. Sample analysis carried out in laboratory air quality BMKG, using ion chromatography.
The results of measurement of SO2 concentration in February 2012 can be seen on the graph below
In February the highest levels of SO22 in Glodok (0,012 ppm) and lowest levels in Siantan (0,002 ppm), but still below the threshold (0.14 ppm).
