
One of the tasks Climatology Meteorology and Geophysics Agency is to carry out Air Quality monitoring, one of which is rain water sampling for the analysis of chemical composition of rain water that are specifically for research on the Acid Deposition BMKG Air Quality Laboratory. For that we need a measuring tool as well as collecting rain rain samples automatically.
To reduce dependence on Foreign Affairs, the BMKG either alone or in cooperation with other parties trying to get up or make a re-design the equipment AUTOMATIC RAIN WATER sampler MGA-02 produced by the Center for Engineering Instrumentation and Calibration, with Prototype ARWS 0702 as an early prototype equipment.
The characteristics of this equipment is designed to operate automatically measuring rain to hold or collect rain water samples. Equipment that will be used this sensor is very sensitive so when it rains occur the engine will open the lid of equipment collecting samples of rain water which is then automatically the next sample was flowed through the hose into a plastic bottle made of polyethylene. These sensors will shut down automatically as long as no rain period (when the rain stopped), which aims to avoid or prevent the contamination of water samples by rain-borne pollutants during periods of dry deposition (dry deposition).
Equipment AUTOMATIC RAIN WATER MGA-02 sampler using Data Logger as a counter timer rainfall where the software will be used is Microsoft View Basic as the software to access data from Data Logger (in Microsoft Excel format) to a PC equipped with RS-232 Communication Cable.
As for the microcontroller as a system of equipment hardware sampler AUTOMATIC RAIN WATER MGA-02 used in the next series of Time Delay made in the form of electronic printed circuit boards (PCB / Print Circuits Boards) as a stepper motor controller and create a stimulation experiment result of the design with the main sensor.
